To meet the growing demands for environmental protection, health, and resource conservation, the application of silane coupling agents in metal surface treatment has shown hope for a comprehensive replacement of traditional phosphating processes. Due to the hydrolysis of silane coupling agents, a tri alkyl silanol can be formed, and the hydroxyl groups of the silanol can react with each other to form a cross-linked dense network hydrophobic film. As this film has organic functional groups on its surface that can react with the resin, its adhesion to the paint film will be greatly improved, and its ability to resist corrosion, friction, and impact will also be enhanced. Meanwhile, due to the hydrophobicity of silane film itself, it has a certain anti-corrosion effect, which is proportional to the density of the film. Compared with phosphating film, silane film has certain advantages.
